Out of the Ashes

Oak tree at Blue Sky RanchWhile I was hiking last weekend at the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve in Poway, CA, I was struck by the transformation there. A few years ago part of the park had burned in a wildfire and the signs were still very evident in the landscape. I was particularly called to the beauty of the old oak trees which survived the blaze. The trunks were scorched and carry the scars of the fire, but they are alive and new growth, new leaves sprout from their branches. It reminded me of my own path over the past couple of years. From the ashes we survivors proudly exhibit our scars, our trials and triumphs, and live on.

Phoenix rising from its ashesRight now I’m still working on regaining my full health and vitality, recovering from the emotional losses of the aftermath of a divorce, and going through a process of redefining myself and my spiritual path of service going forward. I’m going to gratefully take a couple months break while Jennifer & Mellissa take the reins of the training. And, on the other side of the fires of transformation, will be a new me, defiantly branching out with new green growth. At the conclusion of the HeartWisdom Circle Facilitator Training with Mellissa this February, I made a commitment to carry into the future a vision of a HeartWisdom Sanctuary, a co-working space for spiritual teachers and healers to gather and do their important work, and I’m looking forward to seeing the physical manifestation come together!
